What the hell is happening to Panera Bread?

Posted by brilokuloj on Mar 30, 2024

A collage of various things said about Panera Bread on Reddit.

There are so many more important things I could be worrying about right now. Like that I’m getting my very first major surgery in just a few days! Or how I need to schedule my sleep studies because I haven’t slept well in months. Or the state of the internet making it harder for me to sell commissions. Or that I should really be writing my story right now. Or this year’s wildfire season.

But of all the things happening in the world right now, there is one question that burns so hot in my mind, I just can’t hold it in.

What the hell is happening to Panera Bread?

Roblox - The Hunt, Part 1

Posted by starsystemerror on Mar 28, 2024

So, Roblox did something this year called The Hunt. I haven’t been a Roblox player for nearly long enough to be aware of the history and relevance of the “egg hunt” event phenomenon, but I’m aware this is a sort of Easter-like treasure hunt kind of thing. Basically, there’s a bunch of games participating in this event, and if you go into each game and do a certain task to win a badge from the event, it’s counted in the main Hunt world. Every few badges you win gets you an item you can wear on your avatar. I don’t really care that much for any of the items, but I do like doing silly little events, so I decided I would give The Hunt a shot.

A lot of these games are extremely popular, and I actually don’t play a lot of super popular Roblox games. There are some I do play frequently, but when it comes to game-surfing, I tend to opt for games with a lower player count. All that is to say, I don’t know a thing about some of the most popular games on the platform! I decided to use this event as a way to check out a few of them and see what I think, as well as how well the challenges for The Hunt were implemented, especially for someone who hasn’t played the games before.

Disclaimer: I am a very casual player of Roblox. All of this was only done to the extent to which I found it fun. I did not play all of the games, or even most of them. However, here is a list of the games I did play as part of this event, in order of when I played them, so you can read my descent into madness.

Dreamhopper Character Creation

Posted by brilokuloj on Mar 22, 2024

Welcome to the first installment of Dreamhopper! This is a series of retrospective articles touring Furcadia, the decrepit furry chatroom from the 90s. I’ll be showing you its rich and zombified culture, the kinds of people who played it – and most importantly, the bizarre architecture and interior design choices of the average mapmaker – all through the critical lens of someone who got seriously traumatized as a child on the platform.

If you want a real look into 90s virtual world nostalgia, smiles and tears and terrifying events and all, this is the series for you. Today I’m exploring the character creator as the means to introduce the platform as a whole.

Coca Cola Spiced

Posted on Mar 21, 2024

Hey, we’re back! With a food review! It’s just like old times, isn’t it? Something FINALLY interesting enough to review has dropped in the soda aisles recently: New Coca-Cola Spiced!

This is a “permanent” addition to the Coca-Cola flavor lineup, which means you’ve got about two years to enjoy this before you can only find it in THAT grocery store way too far away from where you live and they don’t always have it anyway. Coca-Cola Spiced is a really weird and new kind of flavor to add to your permanent lineup, though! Sodas described as “spiced” only really come out around the Christmas season and only as LTOs! Coke describes the flavor as a “unique alchemy of our iconic cola, raspberry and spiced flavors”, which to us is surprisingly non-evocative. Is it just raspberry Coke, then? Which spices were used? And how about some herbs?

Pardon Our Dust!!!

Posted on Mar 7, 2024

We are working on transferring our blog’s archives to a new format, away from Wordpress, due to the CEO of Automattic’s recent behavior. All posts under this one are old articles and more will be added as time goes on! We’re still working on new articles, which will be posted ABOVE this post… once we get around to publishing them.

We’re sorry for however much time this takes, both for moving old articles and writing new! This is the cost of a new generation… of Eggware.XYZ.

A Wingstop of Wrath

Posted on Feb 3, 2024

The world is such a beautiful tapestry that all you can do is laugh and then die.

Damn, that’s cool. This sounds like it could be a quote from classic literature, right? Nope. It’s a quote from my wife Paula – only ten minutes after she watched a grandmother get shitfaced drunk in a Wingstop, individually single out every employee to insult their appearance, slug the manager with a heavy bottle of vodka, and finally get dragged out of the building by her family, who she then attacked in the parking lot.

Boneless wings from Wingstop.

Pretty good boneless wings though.
